CTRC is a regional Developmental Services provideroffering programs across the Districts of Temiskaming and Cochrane includingcoastal communities along James and Hudson Bay. The successful candidate willwork in a community residential home offering supports to individuals withDevelopmental Disabilities. Supports include providing assistance withactivities of daily living, leisure, recreational, interpersonal interactions,medical and personal care. Residential Counsellors work collaboratively withdifferent team members including Assistant Residential Counsellors, aRegistered Nurse, Psychological and Speech Services Staff, and Client SupportWorkers. Residential Counsellors report to a Residential Supervisor. Part Timeemployees are offered a defined pension plan with the Healthcare of OntarioPension Plan (HOOPP) and are eligiblefrom hire date to join the plan. Extended Health Benefits (80% of drugcosts) Life insurance ($25,000), dental ($1,500/yr.), vision ($225/24 months),para-medical coverage ($300/practitioner) and travel insurance with allpremiums paid by employer are provided. Flexibleshifts (e.g., 2-4-6-8-10-12 hours during a 24 hour period). Part-TimeEmployees may be scheduled up to 56 hours every 2 weeks and may accept extrashifts offered. Shift premiums (extra $0.60/hr. for evening shifts, extra$0.65/hr. for night shifts and an extra $0.32/hr. on Saturdays and Sundays withevening and night shift premiums still paid.) Overtime paid after daily limitof 12 hours. Personal Emergency Days as per ESA and Collective Agreement. Only those possessing a DevelopmentalService Worker Diploma or Child and Youth Worker Program Diploma (with Pharmacology course ) or a PracticalNurse Program Diploma will be considered for theResidential Counsellor position. Possession of an updated Standard First Aidcertificate (including Heart Saver CPR) and CPI, or willingness to obtain suchis necessary. A validG class driver’s license is also required .Bilingualism is an asset. Individuals possessing a PersonalSupport Worker (PSW) certificate with pharmacology may apply and work as ResidentialCounsellor (Underfill).
