What you will do
As a Controller, you will be the financial backbone of a scaling organization. This is a rare opportunity to
build, lead, and modernize
the accounting function in a fast-moving environment. You will own all aspects of accounting operations, financial reporting, internal controls, and compliance, while helping to shape the company's financial infrastructure for its next phase of growth.

You will work hand-in-hand with the CFO and executive leadership to bring financial clarity, accuracy, and strategic insight to every corner of the business.

Your responsibilities will be as follows:

• Own the month-end and quarter-end close process, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting under ASPE.
• Build scalable accounting processes to support rapid growth by implementing best practices and automation wherever possible.
• Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, payroll, and expense management, ensuring efficiency and compliance.
• Manage external relationships with auditors and tax advisors.
• Oversee corporate income tax returns and sales tax returns in different jurisdictions.
• Implement and maintain internal controls to ensure compliance with evolving regulations and investor expectations.
• Maintain detailed records of compensation adjustments and track variable pay components such as commissions and bonuses, in accordance with company policies.
• Provide financial documentation and analysis to support grant applications and fundraising initiatives.
• Support the operations team in vendor management, and other ad-hoc projects.

What your resume shows
Must Haves

• A strong alignment with Qohash's core values.
• CPA designation (active or equivalent) required.
• 7+ years of accounting experience, ideally including time at a high-growth SaaS or technology company.
• Strong systems mindset – familiarity with modern SaaS accounting and financial operations tools to enhance operating efficiency.
• Ability to thrive in ambiguity, roll up your sleeves, and execute with precision.
• Exceptional communication and analytical skills; you can translate complex accounting concepts into clear business insights.

Nice to Haves

• Experience in a venture-backed B2B SaaS high-growth startup.
• Exposure to AI-powered tools to increase efficiency and automation.
• Prior experience dealing with large multi-year contracts.
• Preference for candidates residing in Quebec.
