SECURITY SUPERVISOR – CITY OF THUNDER BAY CONTRACT

Location: Thunder Bay, Ontario

Schedule: Full-time | 24/7 On-Call Availability Required

About the Role

Horizonor is seeking an experienced Security Supervisor to oversee operations.

You will ensure service quality, manage guards, conduct inspections, and maintain performance standards.

Key Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary liaison between Horizonor and client representatives.
  • Provide 24/7 on-call supervisory coverage for escalations and emergencies.
  • Conduct on-site inspections — including unannounced performance checks.
  • Manage schedules, shift coverage, and contingency planning.
  • Supervise the quality of daily logs, incident reports, and tracking data.
  • Oversee onboarding, training, and compliance with client and legislative standards.
  • Maintain communication with the client for incident reporting, urgent concerns, and operational updates.
  • Provide coaching, performance management, and corrective action as required.
  • Support patrol operations as needed (foot and mobile).
  • Lead all incident investigations and ensure accurate documentation.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2–3 years supervisory experience in the security industry.
  • Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.
  • Valid Class G licence with clean abstract.
  • Strong understanding of the Private Security & Investigative Services Act.
  • Experience leading teams of 10–20 guards.
  • Excellent communication, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to respond to incidents after hours.
  • Strong report writing and documentation skills.
  • Proficient with checkpoint tracking systems and digital reporting.
  • Professional appearance and leadership presence.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $23.00-$26.00 per hour
