MOBILE PATROL SECURITY GUARD

Location: Thunder Bay, Ontario

Schedule: Full-time rotating shifts

About the Role

This position provides rapid response to intrusion alarms, conducts scheduled and on-call mobile patrols, and assists with seasonal patrol demands.

Key Responsibilities

  • Respond to intrusion alarms at City facilities as first responder.
  • Conduct nightly mobile patrols
  • Perform building and grounds checks (doors, windows, locks, hazards).
  • Conduct foot patrols when required.
  • Provide immediate reporting of:
  • Theft, break-ins, vandalism
  • Fires, accidents, emergencies
  • Hazardous conditions
  • Complete all required incident reports, written logs, and GPS-based patrol tracking.
  • Maintain direct communication with Horizonor's central communications centre.
  • Work closely with City supervisors and law enforcement when required.

Requirements

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence.
  • Valid Class G licence with clean abstract.
  • Experience in mobile patrol, alarm response, or lone-worker roles (asset).
  • High comfort level operating a company vehicle in all weather conditions.
  • Strong situational awareness and decision-making.
  • Ability to work nights, holidays, and irregular schedules.
  • Must wear full uniform & PPE.
  • Must complete City-required training (customer service, first aid, AODA, etc.).
  • Ability to write clear, detailed reports.
  • Must carry an active mobile phone on duty.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Work Location: In person
