STATIC SECURITY GUARD (24/7)

Location: Thunder Bay, Ontario

Schedule: Full-time rotating shifts (days/nights/weekends/holidays)

About the Role

Horizonor is hiring licensed Security Guards to provide 24/7 on-site security. This position requires a high level of professionalism, vigilance, and customer service, as you will be the primary on-site presence for all parking-related activity.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintain a constant presence and monitor all activity.
  • Escort loiterers or unauthorized individuals out of the facility.
  • Assist customers with parking equipment, gate access, and payment issues.
  • Report malfunctioning equipment, hazards, safety issues, or suspicious behavior.
  • Issue parking violations/tickets (training and equipment provided by the City).
  • Conduct regular foot patrols of all parkade levels.
  • Complete daily logs, incident reports, checkpoint scans, and submit them promptly.
  • Communicate with supervisors and City representatives as required.
  • Respond to emergencies, alarms, hazards, or incidents.
  • Maintain full compliance with the Private Security & Investigative Services Act, 2005.

Requirements

  • Valid Ontario Security Guard Licence (mandatory).
  • Valid Ontario Class G licence an asset.
  • Ability to work all shifts, including overnights and weekends.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to issue tickets and enforce rules in a professional manner.
  • Comfortable working alone in a large facility.
  • Must pass a criminal background check.
  • Ability to walk and patrol multiple levels of a parking structure.
  • Must wear company-issued uniform and PPE at all times.
  • Must have a cell phone dedicated to security communications while on duty.
  • Must complete City-provided training (paid by Horizonor).

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $19.50-$22.00 per hour
