Maintenance Project Technician

General Duties:

The Project Technician supports the planning, coordination, and execution of maintenance activities within our facilities. The role is hands-on and project-focused, includes ensuring equipment reliability, compliance with Ontario safety regulations, and successful implementation of maintenance projects such as upgrades, repairs, and installations.

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in scoping, planning, and scheduling maintenance projects, including equipment upgrades, system replacements, lifecycle renewals, and infrastructure repairs.
  • Perform hands-on technical tasks required during project work, such as equipment disassembly, installation, calibration, testing, and commissioning
  • Works closely with maintenance manager and project technicians
  • Reads diagrams and drawings to determine work procedures

· Monitor project progress, identify risks or delays, and communicate issues to manager.

· Diagnosing and troubleshooting issues

· Verify completed work, conduct functional tests, and ensure project deliverables meet technical specifications and safety standards

· May operate power equipment such as forklifts, saws, drills and other items

· May work at heights

· May work in a hot and dusty environment, sometimes physically intense

· Works on special projects as directed by the management team

· Contributes to team effort by taking on added tasks as required

· Ensure security, integrity and confidentiality of all data

· Lead and maintain a safe, secure, enjoyable professional working environment

· Performs related duties as assigned

· Required some hand tools and electrical testing equipment, such as electrical meter and or clamp meter

Qualifications:

· Excellent communication skills, verbal and written, and organizational skills

· Attention to details and reporting activities

· Able to troubleshoot

· Self-motivating with a positive attitude

· Ability to multi-task and problem solve

Typical working conditions:

· Schedule may change depending on business requirements. Flexible schedule is required.

· Manufacturing plant with continuous interaction on manufacturing floor where PPE is required.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $30.00-$35.00 per hour

  • Mechanical: 3 years (required)
  • Electrical: 3 years (required)
  • PLC: 2 years (required)
