Dietary Aide

1 Part-Time Temp, 1 Casual

Hours of Work:

2-3 shifts per week, every other weekend

Qualifications:

  • Positive, "Can-do Attitude"
  • Exhibits a caring, nurturing attitude
  • Possess the ability to read, write and communicate effectively in English.
  • Able to accept direction well from supervisor
  • Have a desire to make a difference in the lives of seniors each day.
  • Task-oriented individual
  • Collaborative, team player
  • Able to follow verbal and written communication in English.
  • Basic knife skills.
  • Ability to lift 50Lbs.
  • Able to stand for majority of your shift.
  • Able to communicate with residents in a professional manner
  • Kitchen experience an asset
  • Serving experience is an asset, as well as experience working with seniors
  • Food Handlers an asset
  • Will require Police Vulnerable Sector Screening Certificate

Responsibilities:

  • The dietary server is responsible for ensuring that all mealtimes are a pleasant dining experience on a consistent basis for the resident and their families.
  • To ensure that services are delivered in a warm and friendly atmosphere.
  • Maintain confidentiality of all facility information.
  • Assist with preparation and set up of dining rooms for meal service, take resident meal orders and serve meals.
  • Assisting the cook when necessary
  • Taking out garbage and cleaning duties as required
