The Millwright & Facilities Manager is responsible for ensuring the reliable operation, maintenance, and continuous improvement of all production and facility equipment at Select Stone Supply. This role combines hands-on mechanical expertise with proactive problem-solving to minimize downtime, optimize performance, and uphold safety and quality standards. The incumbent will inspect, repair, and service a range of machinery—including CNC saws, polishers, conveyors, forklifts, cranes, and support systems—while also overseeing facility maintenance, installations, and upgrades. Practically speaking, here's what you'll do on a day-to-day basis…

Equipment Maintenance & Repair

Inspect, troubleshoot, and repair CNC saws, bridge saws, polishers, forklifts, conveyors, cranes, compressors, Bobcats, loaders, and other fabrication/shop machinery. Perform preventive maintenance and scheduled servicing to minimize downtime while diagnosing and resolving mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, and electrical issues. Fabricate, weld, or machine replacement parts as needed, sourcing, installing, and testing components to ensure operational reliability.

Installation & Setup

Install, align, and commission new equipment in accordance with manufacturer guidelines, overseeing relocation, anchoring, and calibration of machinery. Support engineering and process improvement projects, and develop a Total Preventative Maintenance (TPM) program by redesigning checklists and creating a comprehensive system tailored to Select Stone Supply.

Facility Management

Oversee the upkeep and safety of production areas, maintaining HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems. Coordinate with contractors for specialized repairs and upgrades, conduct regular inspections to identify hazards or maintenance needs, and ensure compliance with OHSA, fire code, environmental, and municipal regulations.

Safety & Compliance

Ensure all machinery and facilities meet applicable safety standards and regulations. Conduct inspections, promptly address hazards, support the Health & Safety Committee with technical expertise, and maintain detailed records of maintenance and facility inspections for audit and compliance purposes.

Operational Support

Collaborate with the General Manager, Production Manager, and Production Leader to prioritize maintenance and facility projects. Respond quickly to breakdowns to minimize production disruption, train operators on daily checks and reporting, and assist with capital projects, layout planning, and facility modifications for workflow improvements.

Recordkeeping & Continuous Improvement

Track all maintenance work, costs, and parts inventory through logs or software, recommending improvements to preventive maintenance schedules, energy efficiency, and equipment reliability. Participate in root cause analysis for recurring failures to develop and implement long-term solutions.

Leadership & Oversight

Supervise contractors and trades during maintenance and facility projects, maintain vendor relationships for parts and services, and prepare reports for management including cost tracking and project updates. Contribute to budgeting for facility upkeep and capital improvements.

General

Work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced manufacturing environment, maintaining flexibility to address urgent after-hours needs. Uphold Select Stone Supply's core values of safety, quality, professionalism, and teamwork.
