ABOUT 5-TON DRIVER:

As a 5 Ton Driver at Frozen Solid, you will be an integral part of our dedicated team, responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of temperature-sensitive products. Your role encompasses driving a 5 ton truck, loading and unloading products, ensuring accurate documentation, and delivering exceptional customer service.

POSITION KEY INFORMATION:

Work days: Tuesday to Saturday

Start time: 5am-8am

Shift hours: 8hrs-10hrs.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Safely operate a 5-ton truck to deliver frozen and refrigerated products to designated locations in accordance with service delivery standards, following all traffic laws and safety regulations.
  • Monitor the operation of vehicle to ensure safe driving practices following applicable traffic laws.
  • Ensure proper use and operation of all company equipment including vehicles and reefers
  • Assist with the loading and unloading of products, ensuring proper handling and securing of items to maintain their integrity.
  • Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle and report any issues or maintenance requirements promptly.
  • Complete accurate delivery logs, trip reports, and other required documentation using appropriate software, ensuring compliance with company and regulatory standards.
  • Provide exceptional customer service by addressing client inquiries, resolving issues promptly, and maintaining a positive and professional demeanor.
  • Obtain signatures as needed.
  • Perform basic maintenance tasks on the vehicle, such as checking oil, water, and tire pressure, and report any major maintenance needs to the appropriate department.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Valid Class 5 Driver's License, with a clean abstract.
  • Minimum 2 years' experience driving a 5 Ton truck.
  • Food industry experience.
  • Strong customer service skills.
  • Basic computer skills for logistics tracking and documentation, ability to use Excel and the MS Office suite.
  • Knowledge of using logistics and dispatch systems (TransPlus and Samsara) considered an asset..

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 70lb.
  • Sitting for extended periods while driving.
  • Climbing in and out of the truck and performing physical tasks associated with loading and unloading.
  • Standing, bending, and walking.
