Job Overview

We're seeking an experienced Property Accountant/Bookkeeper to manage full-cycle accounting operations for our real estate investment portfolio. You will be responsible for financial reporting, lease accounting, budgeting, and cash flow management while working closely with property management and leadership teams. This is a key role in a growing company where accuracy, initiative, and organization matter.

Duties

  • Full-cycle accounting: A/R, A/P, GL, accruals, amortization, bad debts
  • Monthly financial statements, budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
  • Bi-weekly payroll processing
  • GST, PST, and WCB filings
  • Maintain lease and tenant information (Yardi) and prepare annual rent schedules
  • Review rent rolls, prepare tenant operating cost reconciliations, manage chargebacks
  • Fixed asset tracking, amortization schedules, and supporting valuations
  • Monitor cash flow, coordinate intercompany transactions and investor distributions
  • Work closely with property management, leasing, finance, and tax teams
  • Assist with year-end reporting, working papers, and audits
  • Support financing activities, review expense reports, and assist with special projects

Skills

  • Minimum 3 years of accounting experience in property management or real estate
  • Strong full-cycle accounting experience
  • Expertise in QuickBooks Desktop and Online
  • Experience with Yardi software (asset)
  • Strong Excel and Microsoft Office skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
  • Ability to work independently, prioritize, and meet deadlines
  • Strong communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills
  • High degree of professionalism and confidentiality

Job Type: Full-time
