General Job Description:

Met-Scan Canada Ltd. (Met-Scan) is looking for a dynamic and experienced Field Service Technician to join our growing team in Toronto, Ontario. The successful candidate must have experience with complex electronic Security System installations and repairs pertaining to Video Security and Access Control, including, Intrusion Systems. Most work is completed during regular business hours however all employees must be available to work after hours when required.

Key Accountabilities:

1. Quality technical implementation-troubleshooting and repair work, installation, programming, and testing.

  1. Quality technical implementation as per defined scope.

  2. Meeting delivery timelines of projects and service requests.

  3. Ensures that all assigned service calls are handled properly in accordance with Met-Scan's policies and procedures and are completed in time.

Technical Responsibilities:

  1. Troubleshoot client security equipment issues.

understand root cause of the problems and provide long-term solutions to resolving issues.

  1. Install and test low voltage cables, conduit, and other security systems equipment for small to large client projects.

  2. Setting up and configuring security devices.

Requirements, Education and Experience:

  • High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Solid technical background in Video Security Systems (CCTV), Access Control, and Low Voltage Electronic Technology.
  • 3 to 5 years prior work experience in security systems industry or equivalent.
  • Has extensive troubleshooting and repair experience.
  • Understands networking and IP addressing.
  • MS Office and good computer literacy.
  • Excellent communication skills.
  • Fluent in English both written and spoken.

Knowledge, Skills & Competency:

  • Software House, Milestone, preferred certificate and installation experience.
  • Familiar with NVR's and analytics.
  • Strong Microsoft Windows skills.
  • Working at Heights certificate
  • Confined Spaces certificate
  • Aerial Lifts certificate

Other Employment Requirements:

  • Maintain Health and Safety training requirements.
  • Is legally able to work in Canada.
  • Able to work nights and weekends, if and when required.
  • Located in the GTA
  • This job requires minimal travel as needed.
  • Must have a valid G driver's license with no records.
  • Must pass background and security checks as required.

Working Conditions:

This job requires regular physical activity including walking, standing, climbing, stopping, lifting objects weighing up to 75 pounds or more, using hands to manipulate, install, or dissemble objects.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $20.00-$37.08 per hour
