Training in all vocational aspects of the role is provided.

Summary of Position
Responsible to perform the duties and responsibilities of the rooms, laundry and public area attendant. Responsible for maintaining optimum customer service and the housekeeping department standards. Will involve evening and weekend work. Seasonal summer and year round positions available.
Key Relationships
Internally: Provide all essential information to department heads and employees.
Externally: Occasional contact with all guests requiring exceptional customer service.
Qualifications

Education
Essential: 1.
Ability to communicate and comprehend both orally and written in English with employees and customers.
Desirable: 1. WHMIS certificate.
- Pursuing or completed High School Diploma or Vocational equivalent
Knowledge
Desirable: 1. Previous experience in a cleaning position
- Previous hotel and resort experience
Skills & Abilities
Essential:
Ability to operate cleaning equipment i.e. vacuum.
Excellent customer service skills in order to maintain an exceptional rapport with customers and employees.
Ability to follow directions in a timely manner.
Self-starter and ability to work independently.
Ability to work cooperatively with employees and managers as part of a team.
Ability to focus attention on details, prioritize, organize and follow up. 7. Ability to work in a time efficient manner.
Special Requirements: Ability to operate a motorized vehicle i.e. Golf Cart, Van or Truck as
per company policy & procedure.
Note: Not "all" employees are required to operate company vehicles.
Mental Effort required to perform the job:
- Extensive mental attentiveness and listening is required when handling guests.
- Frequently listening to directions from supervisors and managers.
Physical Effort required to perform the job:
- Long periods of standing and walking.
- Repetitive arm and shoulder movements are required for cleaning.
- Frequent lifting of laundry bags, linens, towels, and sheets. Up to a maximum of 25lbs
- Repetitive pulling, lifting, reaching, bending and movement are required.
Duties and Responsibilities
Maintain complete knowledge of and comply with company and departmental policies and procedures.
Maintain related knowledge of fire and health & safety policies & procedures.
Maintain company knowledge by attending training workshops and meetings.
Maintain client and company confidence by keeping information confidential.
Maintain a positive working relationship with team members and management as part of a team.
Set up and organize housekeeping cart and work area with designated supplies, forms and brochures and maintain cleanliness at all times.
Responsible for providing excellent customer service and professional communication at all times with guests, visitors and employees at all times.
Ensure that all guests and visitors are greeted with the company standard greetings at all times.
Rooms Attendant responsibilities:
Read and interpret notes to determine room assignments.
Clean and make up rooms (interior and exterior areas) as per company standards and room assignments.
Vacuuming, dust, and mop as required.
Stock guest coffee area and ensure adequate supply is available ( in some designated rooms as well as public areas.)
Responsible for maintaining and stocking all guest rooms reporting any malfunctioning equipment to the maintenance department.
Laundry Attendant responsibilities
Launder, fold and put away all clean linens, towels, etc. on a daily basis in to laundry storage areas.
Maintain cleanliness in laundry area as per company standards.
Monitor washers and report any malfunctions to Supervisor.
Clean storage cabinets and restock as directed by supervisor
Assist guests in the guest Laundromat area – showing how to use machines, giving change and selling supplies.
Public Area Attendant responsibilities:
Assist with the set up for special events.
Assist with the set up and tear down of conference rooms when requested.
Set up the coffee, tea, and snacks for the conference rooms when requested.
Clean, sanitize and maintain all public areas including smoking areas, dance floors, washrooms, recreation area, change rooms, exercise rooms, squash courts, hallways, main reception area etc. as per company standards.
Clean and sanitize all areas of the public washrooms including toilets, urinals, walls, sinks, taps, dispensers and floors as per company standards.
Responsible for refilling the paper towel dispensers in the public washrooms.
Clean and empty garbage's and sanitary boxes in the public washrooms.
Ensure that all supplies are stocked and available in the public washrooms.
Check toilet paper rolls and refill when required.
Sweep and mop the washroom floors including cleaning of the baseboards.
Check air freshener dispensers in the washrooms and refill when required.
Clean seasonal areas as required i.e. patio tables and chairs.
Polish brass and chrome features throughout the public areas of the hotel.
Vacuum main reception area and coat check area.
35.Dust all furniture in the public areas of the hotel.
Sanitize and clean all glass fixtures in the public areas of the hotel.
Restock all supplies in the main reception area including creamers, teas, cups, lids, napkins etc.
Maintain and clean the fireplace when required.
Responsible for cleaning all glass doors and structures in the public areas of the hotel
Wipe and sanitize pop and ice machines reporting any malfunctions.
Wash and fold dinning room linens and pool towels.
Suggests new and less expensive ways of performing tasks.
- Responsible for reporting any malfunctioning equipment in the guest rooms, laundry rooms or washrooms to the maintenance department.
- Responsible for ensuring all room assignments are completed on time as per the productivity and quality standards.
WORKING CONDITIONS while performing the job:
- Required to work out doors and indoors therefore climate will vary.
- Frequently required to work with a large variety of cleaning products.
- Required on a daily basis to operate a motorized vehicle to transport supplies (when driving privileges have been extended).
