COMMUNICATIONS AND FUNDING COORDINATOR
POSITION OVERVIEW:
This position is responsible for engaging stakeholders, cultivating partnerships, and identifying funding opportunities through grant writing and collaborative initiatives.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
· Working with the Director, Client & Stakeholder Relations to build and maintain relationships with community members and organizations to ensure that the organization is responsive to the needs and concerns of the community.
· Gathering and analyzing research and using it to inform senior leadership on policy development.
· Creating and implementing community engagement programs, such as workshops, surveys, and other initiatives to gather feedback and promote community participation.
· Research and identify potential grant opportunities that align with strategic priorities.
· Drafting grant applications in consultation with the Director Client & Stakeholder Relations and the President and CEO.
· Evaluating and drafting policies and processes for recommendation to senior leadership.
· Creating presentations for the President and CEO and senior leadership.
· Preparing communication materials for publication at meetings, events, and on our social media channels.
· Completing an annual environmental scan in advance of the strategic planning sessions.
· Drafting weekly updates, surveys, etc.
· Researching potential new revenue streams for the organization.
· Acting as a backup for the Executive Assistant to the President and CEO and fulfilling the duties and responsibilities of that role as needed.
· Other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS/EXPERIENCE:
· Bachelor's degree in Social Sciences, Communications, Business Administration, or a related field or a 2-year diploma specifically in the communications field.
· Minimum of two years of experience in community engagement, partnership development, and/or grant writing.
· Prior experience in nonprofit, educational, or government setting is preferred.
· Strong written and verbal communication skills, including public speaking and professional writing.
· Proven effective interpersonal and organizational skills.
· Demonstrated success in securing grants or managing the grant process.
· Excellent computer skills using Microsoft applications.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS:
· Valid class 5 driver's license with 5 years of driving experience and clean abstract
· Acceptable criminal record check
WORKING CONDITIONS:
· Normal office conditions.
· Evenings and weekends as required
