Job Summary
The
Network Analyst
supports the continuous operation of a major financial institution's
Network Operations Center (NOC)
, providing
24/7 frontline network monitoring, troubleshooting, and incident management
. This Tier 1-1.5 level role ensures the uptime, stability, and integrity of critical systems across LAN, WAN, SD-WAN, Wireless, and Firewall infrastructure. Candidates must thrive in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment and be comfortable with rotating shifts in a dual-site coverage model.
Key Responsibilities
- Monitor, diagnose, and escalate network events and anomalies across
LAN, WAN, RLAN, MAN, Wireless, and Firewall
environments. - Support incident, change, and problem management processes according to NOC standards.
- Manage and triage incident queues, ensuring prompt escalation to L2/L3 teams when needed.
- Document all troubleshooting actions, shift updates, and incident resolutions.
- Collaborate closely with
Shift Leaders and Managers
to coordinate workload and maintain service levels. - Participate in major incident (P2) calls and assist with resolution of high-impact issues.
- Develop and peer-review
Method of Procedure (MoP)
and "how-to" documentation for team training. - Identify
process improvement
and automation opportunities to streamline NOC operations. - Engage with third-party vendors and telcos for escalations, updates, and chronic issue resolution.
- Support onboarding and knowledge transfer for new team members.
- Maintain compliance with internal
ITIL and Change Management
frameworks.
Required Experience
- 3-5 years of experience
in network operations or production environments. - Strong understanding of
TCP/IP, Cisco routers/switches, Firewalls, Load Balancers, and Wi-Fi
. - Experience troubleshooting using tools such as
SevOne, ExtraHop, Infoblox, and ThousandEyes
. - Proven ability to work effectively under pressure in
24x7 operational environments
.
Required Education / Certifications
- Degree or Diploma in
Information Technology, Networking, or a related field
. - CCNP (minimum 3 years of troubleshooting experience)
or
CCNA (minimum 5 years of experience)
required. - ITIL certification preferred; CCDP is an asset.
