About the Role:

We are seeking a Plant Support Engineer with strong experience in automotive diagnostics and communication networks (CAN, LIN, Ethernet). The successful candidate will provide on-site engineering and technical support for production and validation activities, focusing on vehicle communication systems and diagnostic tools such as CANalyzer, CANoe, and Vector tools.

This role requires a hands-on engineer who can quickly diagnose, analyze, and resolve production issues, ensuring seamless integration between vehicle ECUs, communication networks, and manufacturing systems.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide on-site engineering support for automotive production lines and validation facilities.
  • Use diagnostic tools (CANoe, CANalyzer, UDS, OBD) to analyze vehicle communication and identify root causes of network or ECU issues.
  • Support ECU flashing, communication verification, and diagnostics validation during manufacturing and plant operations.
  • Collaborate with design, test, and manufacturing teams to ensure smooth ECU and network functionality.
  • Analyze CAN/LIN traffic logs and generate detailed diagnostic reports.
  • Drive root cause analysis (RCA) and corrective actions for communication and diagnostic failures.
  • Support plant-level issue triage and interface with vehicle engineering and supplier teams.
  • Assist in software updates, calibration loading, and diagnostic test execution using Vector or OEM-specific tools.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical, Electronics, Mechatronics, or Automotive Engineering (or equivalent).
  • 3+ years of experience in the automotive industry supporting diagnostics or communication systems.
  • Hands-on experience with CAN, LIN, UDS, and automotive ECU communication protocols.
  • Proficiency with Vector tools (CANoe, CANalyzer, VN hardware) or equivalent diagnostic platforms.
  • Strong analytical and troubleshooting skills with a solid understanding of vehicle network architectures.
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or plant support environment is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and documentation skills.
