Homewood Ravensview is a private 75-bed mental health, trauma and addiction facility offering evidence-based, medically-led, inpatient services for first responders, military, veterans, executives & professionals, adults, and young adults. Located in North Saanich on 28 acres of forested hillside, Homewood Ravensview offers clients a comfortable and safe environment featuring serene ocean views from spacious rooms, welcoming common areas and a world-class team of physicians, psychiatrists, counsellors and 24-hour nursing professionals.

As a Maintenance Assistant, you will be an integral part of a collaborative team focused on delivering seamless services and programs to our clients and customers.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Support Maintenance department efforts by completing assigned and demand work requests
  • Hand, relocate, and remove various fixtures, signs, artwork, etc.
  • Installation and repair of various building components (i.e. ceiling tiles, doors and door hardware, floor, trim, etc.)
  • Operation of float cart
  • Repair equipment (furnishings, fixtures)
  • Waste removal, and demolition
  • Patching, drywall taping and finishing, and fire stopping
  • Painting and furniture refinishing
  • Assist with office and other departmental moves
  • Assist trades staff with more complex work orders and projects
  • Support snow removal efforts and linen distribution efforts

What We're Looking For

  • 5 years' experience in building construction and/or maintenance, painting, plaster & drywall repairs, installation of wall fixtures, servicing of door hardware, and minor plumbing
  • Competent in the safe and effective use of most hand and power tools
  • Awareness of special safety requirements while working in patients' areas
  • Understanding of WHMIS controlled products

Homewood Health promotes a fair and competitive compensation model. Pay rates are tailored to reflect differences in operating environments and job requirements. Compensation is influenced by many factors including compensation principles or approach for a role or job function, organizational tenure, experience, qualifications or premium skills, external competitiveness, internal comparability, geography and work performance. Pay range for this position is $25.00/28.50 hourly.
