HR Generalist, Lab Services – FT
Reports to:
Sr. HRBP – Western Region
Job Summary
The HR Generalist (HRG) is responsible for providing HR support and services to managers and employees. The HRG acts as a key point of contact for employee relations, coaching, training, and supporting key HR processes for our Minerals Business with labs in Canada (Vancouver, White Horse, Timmins), an onsite lab in Saskatchewan, and labs in the US, including Alaska, Nevada, Louisiana, and a few other remote sites in the US.

Coaching Managers and Their Teams
- Providing day-to-day coaching to help managers get the best from their employees
- Giving feedback on leadership style and change management
- Offering coaching on career development, performance improvement, and navigating company policies to help employees maximize their potential and maintain a positive work environment
Employee Relations
- Coaching managers to address conflicts and build/execute resolution plans
- Investigating employee complaints/grievances and developing recovery plans
- Actively managing and educating the progressive discipline program
Talent Planning
- Supporting hiring decisions with talent acquisition processes to ensure strong new talent and providing guidance on compensation, equity, and workforce planning
- Coaching managers on career paths and development plans for their top performers
- Actively partnering with managers to identify underperforming employees and develop strategies for improvement
- Supporting annual performance and potential review processes
Data & Analytics
- Leveraging people analytics and reporting techniques to understand people management indicators
- Using data to identify solutions to complex people problems
Policy and Procedures
- Translating HR policies and procedures to meet business needs
- Executing HR processes locally with a standardized approach
Training Content Delivery
- Providing management and employee training
- Supporting annual HR processes such as performance reviews and calibrations
Employee Well-Being
- Supporting the social and psychological well-being of employees
- Helping to deliver programs and initiatives related to employee well-being
Miscellaneous
- Representing the assigned client group in various forums and discussions while serving as the HR liaison in client management meetings
- Championing and participating in ad hoc HR projects at a regional level
- Undertaking other duties as assigned based on organizational needs and priorities

- Maintaining company labor policies, procedures, and programs and making informed decisions

- Identifying and understanding employee needs at the workplace
- Building a strong digital employee experience and analyzing staffing needs
- Supporting the development of workplaces that boost efficiency and productivity while optimizing costs

Education, Certifications, and Experience (Required)
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field
- 5 years of experience as an HR Generalist or in a similar HR role
- Experience working with both US and Canadian clients
- Language: English required; Spanish is a nice-to-have, not required
- Proficient in HR policies, practices, and employment laws
