Responsibilities:

HELP DESK:

  • Provide responsive helpdesk support to office and field staff during business hours.
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft Windows environments and Microsoft 365 services (user accounts, licensing, troubleshooting, updates).
  • Manage local Active Directory, business applications (Viewpoint Vista, B2W/BID2WIN), printers, and software inventory.
  • Coordinate vendor warranty support and liaise with external providers as needed.
  • Maintain documentation of IT systems, processes, and access credentials.
  • Support onboarding/offboarding of users and devices.
  • Monitor basic cybersecurity hygiene and escalate issues appropriately.
  • Collaborate with a Manager and external partners for infrastructure, network, and advanced security needs.

NETWORK ADMINISTRATION:

  • Proactively monitor and maintain IT infrastructure performance and system efficiency.
  • Proactively maintain security around all IT systems.
  • Configure and define parameters for installation or testing of local area network (LAN), wide area network (WAN), hubs, wireless routers, switches, controllers, multiplexers, servers or related networking equipment.
  • Proactively monitor and analyze network data to determine network usage, disk space availability, or server function.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve server and network issues in a timely manner.
  • Perform routine maintenance or standard repairs to networking components or equipment.
  • Modify and enhance the infrastructure's performance where opportunities for improvement exist.
  • Identify the causes of networking problems using diagnostic testing software and equipment.

OTHER:

  • Maintain inventory of all IT equipment, software and software licenses, ensuring license agreements are kept up to date.
  • Prioritize and schedule all IT requests/issues.
  • Provide feedback and suggestions for new products and the improvement of current products
  • Set up, coordinate and support all Cell phone/handheld device issues with field and office staff on a regular basis.
  • Maintain the company VOIP phone system, including ensuring the company phone list is kept up to date, and manage the VOIP vendor maintenance agreement.
  • Be reachable and available on weekends /evenings when required.
  • Support, promote and maintain the company's website and data hosting site.
  • Create/maintain files/documentation of IT-related information
  • Other IT-related tasks as required/necessary

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science or Technologist diploma in the relevant area and/or proven experience
  • 3+ years' experience with IT Help Desk support and network/infrastructure management
  • Experience with Microsoft Exchange, Active Directory, Windows Server
  • Experience with VMware, and Hyper V environments.
  • An advanced understanding of Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, Excel and other standard computer programs.
  • Ability to handle multiple and changing priorities
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with outstanding judgment.
  • Exceptional customer service skills with a focus on rapport-building, listening and questioning skills.

  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills.
  • Experience working in a team-oriented, collaborative environment.
  • Experience with a help desk ticketing system (for example, Jira) an asset.
