This role involves supporting dentists during various dental procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and safe clinical environment. Experience with Cleardent Software is highly desirable. The position offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic environment specializing in general dentistry, pediatric dentistry, prosthodontics, and endodontics.
Duties
- Assist dentists during procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort
- Prepare treatment rooms by sterilizing instruments and ensuring all necessary supplies are available
- Take and develop X-rays, including 3D scans, adhering to proper aseptic techniques and radiation safety protocols
- Record vital signs and medical history updates while maintaining accurate dental/medical records in Cleardent software
- Manage patient check-in/check-out processes as a dental receptionist when needed
- Ensure infection control standards are strictly followed according to HIPAA regulations and OSHA guidelines
- Educate patients on oral health care instructions post-treatment
- Maintain knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, and medical coding for accurate documentation
- Support the dental team with administrative tasks related to medical documentation and records management
- Adhere to all infection control protocols and aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety
Experience
- Previous experience working in a dental clinic setting is required, with familiarity in general dentistry procedures
- Experience with pediatric dentistry is preferred but not mandatory
- Proficiency with Cleardent is highly advantageous
- Knowledge of dental assisting techniques including chairside assisting, vital signs measurement, and medical imaging
- Understanding of dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, infection control practices, and medical documentation standards
- Certification or training in X-ray procedures and pediatric dentistry is a plus
- Strong communication skills combined with a professional attitude are essential for success in this role
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $23.00-$25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 15 – 30 per week
