About the Role

As a Senior Java Developer at BrainRidge Consulting, you will play a key role in designing and developing scalable, high-performance backend applications for our financial services clients. Your expertise in Java, Spring Boot, and microservices will be critical in shaping the future of financial technologies. You'll collaborate with talented teams to build and maintain robust systems, driving innovation in the fintech space. This position offers an exciting opportunity to work on complex, high-impact projects in a dynamic and supportive environment.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop scalable, maintainable Java-based microservices using Spring Boot
  • Build and maintain RESTful APIs for secure, high-performance integrations
  • Work closely with architects and leads to shape the technical direction of applications
  • Ensure high performance, security, and reliability in backend applications
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on feature planning and delivery
  • Champion clean code practices, unit testing, and continuous integration
  • Conduct code reviews and mentor junior developers
  • Set up and maintain CI/CD pipelines for automated builds and deployments
  • Deploy and monitor applications in cloud environments (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
  • Promote a culture of engineering excellence and continuous improvement

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
  • 10+ years of professional experience in Java development
  • Strong hands-on experience with Spring Boot and microservices architecture
  • Proven expertise in designing and building APIs (REST or similar)
  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud)
  • Familiarity with CI/CD tools and containerization platforms (e.g., OpenShift, Docker)
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a consulting environment
  • Prior experience mentoring developers or leading small teams is an asset

Nice to Have

  • Exposure to DevOps practices and infrastructure automation
  • Background in enterprise-scale modernization or financial services
  • Experience working directly with clients or in a consulting firm
