Project Manager – Commercial Construction

Normerica Structures Ltd. is looking for an experienced Construction/Project Manager to join our growing team

With over 40-years experience and specializing in Building Envelope Design and Timber Frame construction, Normerica has been setting the standard for exceptional timber structures and project execution in Canada and around the world.

The ideal candidate will have experience in Commercial Construction, Construction Management, and Mass Timber; be able to manage daily coordination of projects, be organized, detail-orientated and driven. The successful individual will be self-motivated with high energy and the ability to interact with numerous individuals, in multiple functions, in a dynamic and changing environment.

Once onboard you will be based out of our Barrie Office located at 645 Veterans Drive, Barrie. We offer flexible days, a great work environment and opportunity for partial work from home privileges.

What will you bring?

· A minimum of 5 years of relevant experience in successful delivery of construction projects.

· Ability to consult blueprints, designs, and client instructions to develop construction plans.

· Familiarity with providing and managing updates regarding progress, cost, change orders, RFI's, and schedules.

· Responsibility for project performance, documentation of costs and ensure project are delivered on budget.

· Direct involvement and construction representation for the duration of projects.

· Ability to prepare; RFI's, quotations, proposals, claims and related correspondence and issue resolution.

· Coordinating experience for Supplier and Delivery Schedules.

· Assist in developing best construction practices and implementing on-site.

· Communicating and negotiating directly with clients and designers daily.

· Update clients on construction progress through presentations and client meetings

· Civil, structural, or mechanical engineering experience.

· Ability to chair project/budget update meetings with senior management team.

· Experience in using procurement and software platforms will be added advantage.

· Project management experience, with a drive to go above and beyond our clients' expectations.

· Other duties as requested.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills

· A team player with a positive attitude.

Qualifications:

· Post-Secondary Education in a related discipline.

· 5+ Years of Commercial Construction Experience .

· Expert communication skills that include active listening, the ability to have difficult conversations, precise writing and verbal communication skills.

· High Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications and Construction Management Software.

· Knowledge of tendering process, contracts, drawings and construction practices preferred.

· Strong work ethic with an attention to detail.

· Action oriented individual with a natural drive towards results.

· Access to own vehicle and a good driving record is required.

Job Types: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: $85,000.00-$115,000.00 per year
