Full-time | On-site | Leadership Role in Produce Operations

We are a leading
fresh produce importer and distributor
seeking a proactive and experienced
Repack Facility Manager
(Fresh Produce)
to manage our
produce repacking facility
in Toronto. This is a key leadership role responsible for quality control, staff supervision, automation productivity and food safety compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead daily operations of the
    repacking lines
    for fresh fruits and vegetables
  • Supervise and schedule multiple
    sorting and repacking teams
    across shifts
  • Ensure high standards of
    quality control
    , minimizing customer rejections and product waste
  • Oversee and optimize the use of
    packaging automation equipment
    to increase output and efficiency
  • Monitor and manage
    machine productivity
    , adjusting workflows to maximize throughput
  • Maintain a
    professional, clean, and organized
    work environment
  • Lead and enforce
    food safety compliance programs
    including:
  • CanadaGAP
    ,
    CFIA
    , and
    Organic certification
  • Manage
    labour planning
    , productivity tracking, and cost controls
  • Optimize workflow, output and space utilization
  • Manage budget and reduce costs in accordance with organizational goals
  • Handle
    indirect procurement
    of packaging materials and other supplies (e.g., labels, clamshells, trays, bags, boxes)
  • Train team members on SOPs, equipment operation, hygiene, and safe handling procedures
  • Maintain detailed records and prepare for
    audits and inspections
  • Collaborate with Warehouse, QA, Sales and Logistics teams for seamless coordination

Qualifications:

  • 3–5+ years of supervisory or management experience
    in produce repacking, food processing, or manufacturing
  • Strong background in
    fresh produce quality, shelf-life, and defect management
  • Proven experience with
    packaging automation
    and managing
    machine-driven productivity
  • Familiarity with
    CanadaGAP
    ,
    CFIA
    , and
    organic certification
    protocols
  • Highly
    organized, disciplined, and detail-oriented
  • Strong leadership style — able to introduce professionalism, structure, and accountability
  • Experience with procurement of packaging supplies and materials
  • Comfortable working in
    cold storage environments
  • Proficiency with spreadsheets (Excel or Google Sheets); experience with WMS or ERP is an asset
