Role Summary
If you are an experienced hospitality sales professional who enjoys producing revenue-driven results in tour, association, SMERF, government, and corporate group and business travel then this role may be for you.
Reporting to the Vice President of Operations, the Regional Sales Manager can make positive impacts throughout the portfolio by developing and maintaining strong internal and external partnerships, growing revenues, expanding client portfolios and delivering exceptional sales service with a high level of professionalism. As a corporate employee, with a home-based office in the province of British Columbia, some travel to Vancouver Island, the Okanagan region and other areas located in Canada and the United States of America is required.
Responsibilities for this role include:
- Developing and maintaining strong relationships with relevant stakeholders, including clients, owner groups, destination organizations, marketing partners, employees and guests
- Collaborating with property leadership, event coordinators and other team members of the resort operations to drive revenue, coordinate site tours in order to ensure the delivery of exceptional resort experience
- Actively soliciting, negotiating and producing new and existing business, in assigned markets, through direct sales activities including sales calls, lead generation/tracking and correspondence management
- Planning and conducting targeted sales trips while exercising responsible financial management
- Representing Bellstar Hotels & Resorts, as well as specific properties, on sales calls and at various industry events, conferences and trade/consumer shows
- Preparing, negotiating and tracking proposals and client contracts
- Participating in regular sales meetings with the corporate team as well as property leadership teams to provide input, share market intelligence and develop sales strategies
- Maintaining consistent sales reporting, database management and revenue tracking
- Assisting in the development, implementation and maintenance of sales service standards for the corporation as well as recommending and launching events and ideas to increase revenue potential
- Assisting with the creation, provision and communication of the monthly forecast, revenue and commentary reports
- Anticipating challenges and opportunities then developing, communicating and implementing solutions
- Contributing to positive workplace culture by upholding corporate mission and values
- Ensuring compliance with WorkSafe BC and the corporate Occupational Health and Safety Program
- Conducting other relevant duties while contributing to the fabulous Sales & Marketing team at Bellstar Hotels & Resorts
Qualifications we are looking for:
- Exceptional English communication skills, both written and verbal, with a diverse range of stakeholders
- 4 years+ of sales management experience in the hospitality industry with a focus in corporate, tour, SMERF, government, group and event sales as well as revenue generation and sales service techniques
- A positive, open attitude with an aptitude for relationship management
- Ability to travel up to 40% , including overnight travel, to various locations throughout Canada and the United States of America. A valid passport with the ability to enter and leave the USA is required
- A clean, valid driver's license and access to reliable transportation
- Personal motivation to manage time/tasks and ensure positive attitudes are maintained while under pressure
- Physical ability to occasionally lift up to 20lbs, as well as stand for up to 8 hours
- Proficient knowledge of computers, including using Microsoft Office Suite, Customer Relationship Management technology such as Delphi, Salespro, and Triple SeatForce, as well as Property Management systems such as Cloudbeds, Skytouch, and HMS
