As our organization continues to evolve, we are seeking a
Clinic Manager (Contract)
to provide
interim leadership and operational support
during a transitional period at the clinic. The ideal candidate will bring structure, clarity, and calm confidence to clinic operations, while fostering a positive and supportive environment for both staff and clients.

Position Summary

The
Clinic Manager (Contract)
oversees all administrative and operational aspects of the practice, ensuring the clinic runs efficiently and aligns with AMMA Midwives' mission and values.

This is a
temporary, full-time role
ideal for a detail-oriented, organized, and emotionally intelligent leader who can maintain structure and stability while supporting staff through change.

Key Responsibilities

Operational Leadership

  • Oversee all day-to-day clinic operations including scheduling, workflows, inventory management, and office coordination.
  • Ensure compliance with clinic policies, Ontario midwifery regulations, and confidentiality protocols.
  • Chair staff meetings, ensuring minutes are maintained and action items are completed.
  • Collaborate with leadership to identify workflow improvements and update process documentation.

Client Services & Communication

  • Ensure exceptional client experiences through responsive communication and efficient administrative systems.
  • M
    anage client feedback and contribute to quality improvement projects.
  • Handle conflict resolution with professionalism, empathy and discretion.

Financial Oversight

  • Manage administrative components of budgeting, billing, payroll, and financial reporting.
  • Support cost control, vendor management, and resource planning.
  • Collaborate with leadership on HR processes and compliance as needed.

Team Leadership & Development

  • Supervise and support administrative staff, fostering accountability and professional growth.
  • Maintain a culture of open communication, teamwork, and respect.
  • Provide ongoing coaching, training and feedback to ensure operational excellence.

Qualifications

  • 3–5 years of leadership or management experience, preferably in healthcare or a related professional setting.
  • Strong interpersonal, organizational and communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to resolve conflict, manage tight deadlines, and prioritize competing tasks.
  • Proven track record of discretion, reliability, and ethical decision-making.
  • Experience with medical billing, insurance, and EMRs (Electronic Medical Records).
  • Post-secondary education in Business Administration, Health Management, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Skilled in Microsoft Office, Google Workspace, and/or electronic medical record systems (Accuro experience an asset).
  • Knowledge of midwifery models of care is a plus.
