The Opportunity

We're looking for an Engineering Manager to lead our Merchant Experience engineering team in building robust, scalable, and intuitive systems that enhance the experience and engagement of our merchants. This critical role will drive technical excellence and innovation across our merchant platform, enabling seamless onboarding, management, and retention of merchants through robust technology and superior user experience.

This is a hands-on leadership role, guiding a high performing, autonomous team while fostering a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement. If you're passionate about owning a domain and leading a team of talented engineers, in an environment full of complexity, we'd love to hear from you.

What You'll Do
  • Lead, manage, mentor, and scale a high-performing team of engineers dedicated to building merchant centric features, APIs, portals, and systems that optimize merchant operations.
  • Partner closely with Product Management, other Engineering domains, and our Data Science team to understand merchant needs and translate them into pragmatic technical solutions.
  • Architect and deliver scalable, high-performance systems that improve merchant onboarding, engagement, and loyalty.
  • Ensure seamless integration and interoperability across our platforms, enabling merchants to efficiently manage their operations.
  • Foster a culture of technical excellence through code reviews, best practices, and modern software engineering principles.
  • Be hands-on with design and architecture decisions while leading by example in technical discussions and implementation reviews.
Who You Are
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience, with strong proficiency in Golang, and 3+ years leading engineering teams.
  • Deep understanding of distributed systems, scalability, and performance.
  • Experience designing and operating microservices, with a strong grasp of Event Sourcing.
  • Comfortable working in Kubernetes and modern cloud environments (AWS / GCP).
  • Experience partnering closely with Product to own a domain end-to-end.
  • Hands-on when it matters, guiding design and architecture without micromanaging.
  • Strong judgment around trade-offs, balancing innovation with proven approaches.
  • Calm, confident, and collaborative, with strong opinions that are loosely held.
  • Customer minded, with care for how technical decisions impact real people.

We're looking for an Engineering Manager who enjoys staying close to the work, building strong teams, and turning complex problems into elegant, scalable systems.
