Overview

We are seeking compassionate and dedicated Disability Support Workers to provide high-quality care and assistance to individual with Down Syndrome. This role involves supporting clients in their daily activities, promoting independence, and ensuring their safety and well-being. The ideal candidate will have experience in assisted living, patient care, or senior care settings, and possess a genuine desire to make a positive impact on people's lives. This position offers an opportunity to work in a rewarding environment focused on personalized care and support.

Duties

  • Assist clients with daily living activities
  • continue math/literacy activity sheets/IPad games
  • Support clients with meal preparation
  • Help with light cleaning and maintaining a safe, hygienic environment
  • Offer companionship and emotional support
  • Keeping the individual active with walking to her jobs and activities
  • Support clients in engaging in recreational activities and community outings to promote social inclusion
  • Baking, light cooking, crafting, biking, x-country skiing, snowshoeing, swimming, bowling, hiking, are all optional activities

Experience

  • Prior experience in assisted living, home care, nursing homes, hospice care, or working with people with disabilities is highly desirable
  • Knowledge of dementia care, senior care, or caregiving best practices is preferred
  • Experience with medication administration, meal preparation, and basic nursing skills is advantageous
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and assist with mobility support
  • Strong interpersonal skills for working compassionately with diverse populations
  • Previous experience in caregiving roles that involve patient care or working within healthcare environments is beneficial

This role requires a caring attitude, patience, and the ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Applicants should be committed to providing respectful, person-centered support that enhances the quality of life for those they serve.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $20.00-$22.00 per hour

Expected hours: 24 per week

Work Location: In person
