Hawkstone Physical Therapy is an established and thriving physical therapy clinic, where positive patient outcomes are the number one priority. We are looking for an outgoing, motivated and dynamic individual to join our team. We are currently seeking a Full Time Exercise Therapist/Physical Therapy Assistant. The position involves a commitment of 5 shifts per week (40 hours - Monday to Friday) with a combination of day time and evening hours. The job duties include teaching exercises to patients, assisting the physical therapists in patient set ups, and general cleaning of equipment and the clinic. Training will be provided on the job, however a background in exercise is beneficial. Experience with physical therapy modalities and treatments is an asset.
The ideal candidate will possess the following:
- A Physical Therapy/Occupational Therapy Assistant Diploma or a NAIT Personal Fitness Trainer Diploma, or similar program
- A background in exercise therapy with knowledge of exercise technique and musculoskeletal anatomy
- Experience working in a rehabilitation setting or a facility that concentrates on exercise, specifically a private physical therapy clinic
- Understanding of communication, patient rapport and customer service with a welcoming and friendly attitude
- Ability to multi-task, manage time effectively, and show initiative in completing tasks while working in a fast paced and busy environment
- Team player attitude with an interest in further education and comprehensive patient care
