Job Overview

We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Desktop Support Technician to join our IT support team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing technical assistance and support related to computer systems, hardware, and software. This role requires a strong understanding of various operating systems, including Windows, macOS, and Linux, as well as excellent communication skills to ensure customer satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Provide technical support for desktop systems, applications, and peripherals.
  • Troubleshoot software issues and perform hardware repairs.
  • Assist users with VPN connectivity and network-related problems.
  • Respond to help desk tickets through ServiceNow and Jira platforms.
  • Maintain and configure firewalls and LAN settings to ensure secure access.
  • Document issues and resolutions in the ticketing system for future reference.
  • Collaborate with other IT team members to resolve complex technical challenges.
  • Conduct regular maintenance on computer systems to optimize performance.
  • Provide training and guidance to end-users on software applications, including Microsoft Office.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in desktop support or IT support roles.
  • Strong knowledge of computer networking concepts and troubleshooting techniques.
  • Familiarity with various operating systems: Windows, macOS, and Linux.
  • Experience with help desk software such as ServiceNow or BMC Remedy is preferred.
  • Proficient in software troubleshooting and computer hardware diagnostics.
  • Excellent communication skills with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
