Duties

• Lead and manage the automotive service department, setting high standards for quality, efficiency, and customer satisfaction.
• Oversee daily shop operations, including scheduling technicians, assigning work orders, and monitoring workflow to maximize productivity.
• Ensure all vehicle repairs and maintenance services—such as oil changes, brake repairs, transmissions, alignments, suspension work, tire services, diesel engine repairs, shocks & struts, air brake systems, and auto body repairs—are completed accurately and efficiently.
• Maintain comprehensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics and repair procedures to support technicians and ensure quality standards are met.
• Drive upselling efforts by identifying additional services or repairs that benefit the customer while increasing shop revenue.
• Manage service writing and auto estimating processes to provide clear communication with customers regarding work scope and costs.
• Handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining proper documentation for all financial activities.
• Foster excellent customer service by addressing client concerns promptly and professionally, ensuring a positive experience from start to finish.
• Promote a safe working environment by adhering to safety protocols and conducting regular inspections of tools and equipment.
• Collaborate with sales teams to support automobile sales initiatives through effective service solutions and vehicle presentation.
• Monitor inventory levels for parts and supplies necessary for efficient operation of the service department.
• Stay updated on industry trends and technical advancements in automotive repair to continuously enhance service offerings.

Qualifications

• Proven dealership or automotive service management experience with a strong background in auto repair operations.
• Extensive knowledge of automotive diagnostics, mechanical systems, transmissions, oil changes, brake systems, alignments, suspensions, tire services, diesel engines, shocks & struts, air brakes, and auto body repairs.
• Hands-on experience as a mechanic or service technician is highly desirable to understand technical challenges firsthand.
• Demonstrated ability in upselling services while maintaining integrity and customer trust.
• Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate teams and manage multiple priorities effectively.
• Excellent communication skills for clear service writing, estimating, and customer interactions.
• Familiarity with auto estimating software and dealership management systems is preferred.
• Ability to handle cash transactions accurately while maintaining detailed records.
• Mechanical aptitude combined with excellent organizational skills to oversee daily shop operations smoothly.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $80,000.00-$100,000.00 per year
