The ideal candidate will have proven expertise in installing custom and prefabricated cabinets in residential and commercial settings, primarily kitchens, bathrooms, and other spaces. With a focus on precision, quality craftsmanship, and customer satisfaction, you will handle full-cycle installations from planning to cleanup, ensuring cabinets are level, secure, and aesthetically perfect.
Key Responsibilities
- Determine layout and installation procedures by reviewing project plans, client requirements, and site conditions to ensure efficient and accurate execution.
- Measure and mark guidelines to be used for installations, accounting for uneven walls, floors, or structural variations to achieve precise fits.
- Read and interpret blueprints, maps, drawings, and specifications to guide the installation process and resolve any on-site discrepancies.
- Prepare and maintain work materials and supplies, including selecting appropriate hardware, fillers, moldings, and finishes.
- Load and unload trucks with supplies, equipment, and cabinetry, ensuring safe transport and organization at job sites.
- Utilize hand and power tools (e.g., drills, saws, levels, sanders) to cut, shape, modify, and assemble cabinets, including on-site adjustments for custom fits.
- Secure cabinets to walls and floors using appropriate hardware, ensuring they are level, plumb, and structurally sound.
- Install hardware such as hinges, knobs, handles, drawer slides, and accessories for full functionality.
- Cut, install, and fit fillers, crown moldings, trim, and scribe pieces to seamlessly integrate cabinets with the space.
- Troubleshoot and resolve installation issues, such as alignment problems or material defects, with creative problem-solving.
- Maintain a clean and safe work environment, including daily cleanup, debris removal, and adherence to safety protocols.
- Collaborate with designers, contractors, builders, and clients to address concerns, provide updates, and ensure project satisfaction.
- Perform quality checks throughout the installation to verify durability, aesthetics, and compliance with building codes.
Requirements and Qualifications
- Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on experience as a Cabinet Installer or in related carpentry/woodworking roles.
- Proficiency in using a wide range of hand and power tools, with knowledge of various cabinet materials (e.g., wood, laminate, metal).
- Strong ability to read and interpret technical blueprints and drawings.
- Excellent attention to detail, math skills for precise measurements, and physical stamina for lifting heavy materials and working in varied conditions.
- Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for job site travel.
- Commitment to workplace safety and knowledge of relevant building codes.
- High school diploma or equivalent; apprenticeship or trade certification is a plus.
