Our client, a
well-established and growing manufacturing company
based in North York, is seeking an experienced
Director of Operations
to lead their production, supply chain, and operational strategy.

This role is ideal for a hands-on operations leader who thrives in a fast-paced manufacturing environment and has a proven record of driving efficiency, safety, and performance across teams. You'll have the opportunity to shape the operational direction of a dynamic business, working closely with ownership and senior leadership to deliver sustainable growth.

Key Responsibilities

  • Oversee all aspects of
    day-to-day operations
    , including production, scheduling, logistics, inventory control, and maintenance.
  • Develop and implement
    operational strategies, KPIs, and continuous improvement initiatives
    to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and optimize throughput.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop department managers and production staff, fostering a culture of accountability and engagement.
  • Collaborate with finance, sales, and engineering teams to ensure alignment between production goals and business objectives.
  • Maintain and improve
    health, safety, and quality standards
    across all facilities.
  • Manage budgets, monitor costs, and identify opportunities for operational savings.
  • Oversee
    supply chain performance
    , vendor management, and materials forecasting.
  • Champion lean manufacturing principles and operational excellence initiatives.

Qualifications

  • 10+ years
    of progressive leadership experience in
    manufacturing operations
    , with at least
    5 years in a senior management or director-level role
    .
  • Strong background in
    production planning, process improvement, and team leadership
    .
  • Proven success implementing
    Lean, Six Sigma, or continuous improvement methodologies
    .
  • Exceptional communication and organizational skills; able to lead cross-functional teams effectively.
  • Strong understanding of
    manufacturing systems, ERP software, and KPIs
    .
  • Engineering, Operations, or Business degree
    preferred; MBA or PMP designation considered an asset.
