A CNC Lathe Machinist Setup Operator plays a critical role in the Aerospace and Nuclear industries, ensuring precision components are manufactured efficiently. Here's a breakdown of the job description:

  • Title- CNC Lathe Machinist
  • Location - Concord/Woodbridge/North York
  • Working Shift Afternoon (Starting at 4:30 PM) + 10% Shift premium
  • Industry - Aerospace / Nuclear Parts Manufacturer
  • Wage - Wage Including shift premium wage is -$27/hr-$35/hr

Key Responsibilities:

  • - Setup and Operation: Set up and operate CNC machines, including lathes, drills, and grinders, to produce high-precision parts ¹.
  • - Blueprint Interpretation: Interpret complex blueprints and technical drawings to ensure accurate production ¹.
  • - Machine Maintenance: Perform routine machine maintenance and troubleshooting to minimize downtime ¹.
  • - Quality Control: Conduct quality control tests to ensure products meet strict industry standards ¹.
  • - Collaboration: Work closely with other team members to optimize production processes.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • - High school diploma or equivalent; certifications in CNC machining or manufacturing technology are highly valued ¹.
  • - Proven experience as a CNC machinist, with expertise in CNC machinery and tooling ¹.
  • - Strong understanding of mechanical documents and drawings ¹.
  • - Attention to detail, problem-solving skills, and excellent communication abilities.

Industry-specific knowledge will be an asset:

  • - Aerospace: Knowledge of aerospace materials and manufacturing processes, such as titanium and aluminum alloys
  • - Nuclear: Familiarity with nuclear industry regulations and safety protocols, such as radiation safety and quality control
