Summary

We are seeking a Quality Improvement and Information Management Specialist (QIIMS) to cover a leave of absence. This contract role supports 9 other partner sites across Northern Ontario in their quality improvement planning, decision making and implementation activities, helping drive continuous improvement initiatives that enhance patient care quality and operational efficiency within the Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinic model of care. The ideal candidate will be passionate about healthcare quality and possess strong analytical and leadership skills.

As a Quality Improvement and Information Management Specialist (QIIMS), you will play a key role in facilitating quality improvement planning and implementation activities for all partner sites, through the use of custom data queries and data analytical tools, reviewing data and supporting teams in the implementation of data quality initiatives. You are also expected to participate in broader data harmonization initiatives and champion the use of data and performance analytics within and across Nurse Practitioner-Led Clinics. Your efforts will directly contribute to better health outcomes for our communities.

Responsibilities include:

  • Lead quality improvement and data standardization projects, focused on patient safety, care coordination, and service delivery.
  • Collaborate closely with healthcare professionals and multi-disciplinary teams engaged in quality improvement initiatives to identify performance measurement information and data quality needs.
  • Undertake data analysis and report generation to allow for on-going performance measurement and monitoring, evaluating the impact of implemented changes.
  • Act as a change agent and coach to inter-disciplinary teams on data management and performance measurements.
  • Support boards and administrative leadership in meeting data related accountability requirements internally and externally

Qualifications:

  • A university degree in a related discipline (Business Administration, Statistics, Health Sciences or Information Management) or equivalent education and experience.
  • Proven experience in healthcare quality improvement or related field.
  • Strong knowledge and understanding of applicable privacy and confidentiality policies and laws regarding the collection and use of health information.
  • Strong analytical skills with proficiency in data analysis tools.
  • Excellent communication, leadership abilities and a proven ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with partners.
  • Ability to handle a variety of concurrent assignments and to work independently.
  • Strong applied knowledge of Electronic Medical Records systems with demonstrated interest in the use of data for quality improvement.
  • Organizational skills with attention to details.
