Position Title: HR AssistantEmployment Type: Part-time, Fixed-Term Contract (January – April)Location: Waterloo, ON (Hybrid) Salary: $24.00/hour MAG Aerospace Canada ("MAG") is seeking an enthusiastic and detail-oriented HR Assistant to join our team on a part-time basis hours/week) to assist as we prepare for the upcoming fire season. This is a great opportunity for a recent graduate or someone who would like to build on their HR experience in a supportive and professional environment. The HR Assistant will work closely with the HR Generalist, providing essential administrative support and contributing to the smooth operation of HR functions.Key Responsibilities:

  • Support recruitment activities such as screening resumes and scheduling interviews.
  • Assist with the onboarding process.
  • Assist with preparing contracts to issue to prospective candidates.
  • Assist in answering employee questions and concerns.
  • Assist with HR projects or initiatives.
  • Maintain and review HR documentation to ensure accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
  • Check prospective employee references as needed.
  • Liaise with the Payroll department to share relevant updates and information.
  • Provide general administrative support.
  • Stay abreast on compliance requirements and industry best practices.
  • Conduct interviews when additional support is required in the recruitment process.
  • Other duties assigned by the HR Generalist.

Your Qualifications:

  • Post-secondary education in Human Resources.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
  • Experience with HRIS or ATS an asset.
  • Previous administrative experience.
  • Previous HR experience an asset.
  • Strong organizational skills.
  • Strong time-management skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • High attention to detail.
