About the Team

As part of AGF's Marketing and Product team, the Product Development and Management group are high-performers that work collaboratively to develop and execute AGF's strategic, long-term product development and management plans. About the Role

Reporting to the Vice President, Product Strategy the Director, Product Management & Strategy will execute AGF's ambitious product development and management strategy with a particular focus on the further expansion of AGF's alternatives solutions as well as the continued evolution of AGF's global equity, fixed income and multi-asset offerings in all jurisdictions. As a senior member of the team, this individual acts as a liaison between investment management, distribution and other internal and external business partners to shape AGF's future product line-up and will have frequent interactions with executive and senior leadership team members throughout the organization.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities:

  • Oversees investment products research, peer and landscape analysis for AGF, developing new product ideas as AGF looks to grow its offerings globally for all lines of business.

  • Develop business cases for new investment products and product changes including overseeing competitor analysis, market intelligence and sizing

  • Advise the business on optimal product structures and characteristics for distribution globally including consideration for vehicle structures and regulatory regimes

  • Ongoing oversight of product shelf of mutual funds and ETFs across different asset classes including multi-asset solutions, equity, fixed income and alternatives. This includes recurring needs such as regulatory filings and pricing reviews as well as support of various initiatives including product changes/enhancements to ensure AGF's investment solutions remain competitive

  • Effectively partner with senior Operations, Finance, Distribution and Marketing stakeholders to drive implementation of product initiatives.

  • Build strong relationships with internal teams across the business.

  • Participate in various industry body working groups and actively engage with industry associations.

Your skills and qualifications:

  • Minimum 7 years' experience in investment product development and/or global product structuring

  • Knowledge of Canadian, U.S. and Europe-domiciled investment product related vehicles including a working knowledge of investment strategies and styles employed by fixed income, equity and alternative portfolio managers is required

  • Knowledge of pooled fund trusts, limited partnerships, LLCs, offshore feeders, UCITs is an asset

  • Strong knowledge of investment industry services and distribution channels.

  • People management experience.

  • Ability to build relationships with teams across the organization, excellent interpersonal skills, working effectively with individuals across cultures, functions and levels of seniority.

  • Working knowledge of Morningstar Direct, eVestment, Preqin, Microsoft Office Suite, Salesforce, and high degree of familiarity with investment and wealth management research tools/services

  • Undergraduate degree required. Additionally, CFA, MBA, or Masters in Finance or Economics, CAIA is a plus.
