As a Field Service Technician, you install, maintain and repair scales for our customers across the BC Region. This role reports to our Branch Manager Johnny.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Install and maintain scales at customer's sites.
  • Advise customers on proper equipment operation and basic maintenance procedures.
  • Repair scales at customer's sites.
  • Respond to emergency repair in a calm, efficient and professional manner.
  • Supply technical assistance to customers.
  • Analyze equipment problems.
  • Problem-solve issues, independently or with your colleagues.
  • Make field corrections.
  • Complete Legal for Trade certification as a Measurement Canada Accredited Technician. (Accreditation provided as part of the training program)
  • Maintain work area, vehicle and equipment in an orderly manner.
  • Maintain high safety standards according to company policy and training.
  • Write neat and accurate service reports and calibration certificates.
  • Complete training sessions required by our policies or our client's policies.
  • Paint and prepare test weights

Your Profile Main requirements

  • High sense of responsibility.
  • Ability to drive extensively across the region, and stay overnight away from home most of the week every week.
  • Willingness to learn everything about scales and the industry.
  • Analytical mindset with a knack for problem-solving and resourcefulness.
  • Ability to learn how to read and understand technical manuals, blueprints and schematics.
  • Good soft skills, able to deal with frustrated customers that are stressed when a scale is down.
  • Able to work in harsh environments.
  • Ability to safely lift weights repetitively (50 pounds).
  • A valid driver license with a clean driver's abstract.

Nice to have (not required, just a plus you can offer)

  • Electromechanical expertise.
  • Experience with inspecting, repairing and maintaining structural, mechanical, electrical systems.
  • Industrial scale repair/calibration experience.
  • Experience in harsh jobs like farming: you know what it's like to work hard and you are not intimidated by getting dirty.
  • Comfortable using technology for troubleshooting or reporting.
  • Class 3 Driver License is a plus (brings a pay raise).

What's in it for you?

Salary:

· You have no experience? We offer a starting salary at $23.95 per hour

· Experienced fully trained scales professionals with Weights and Measure Accreditation and a Class 3 License get up to $43.55 per hour (you can get there too)

Overtime pay:

· 1.5 times your hourly salary for travel time after 8 hours on workdays and any labour will be paid at double time.

· double time for Saturday, Sundays and holidays
