As
Director of Finance
you will oversee all finance and operations for a major fund, driving financial reporting, liquidity management, compliance, and investor relations for a large, complex portfolio of real estate investments. Based in downtown Toronto, this role offers exceptional exposure to senior leadership and provides a meaningful pathway for professional growth within a high-performing organization.
Responsibilities
- Lead all fund-level finance and operations activities, including coordination with external administrators and oversight of quarterly financial and reporting
- Manage liquidity, treasury, and capital deployment functions to ensure efficiency and alignment with fund strategy
- Oversee compliance with investor, lender, and governance requirements, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
- Act as the subject matter expert for fund operations including valuations, performance measurement, and investor reporting
- Drive the preparation of audit materials, investor presentations, and performance analyses to support fundraising and due diligence efforts
- Collaborate with senior internal and external stakeholders to maintain strong financial controls and accurate entity-level reporting
- Mentor and develop finance team members, fostering growth and accountability within the group
- Lead continuous improvement initiatives to enhance reporting quality, efficiency, and transparency
Requirements
- CPA or CA designation required
- 7–10 years of progressive experience in accounting or finance, ideally within asset management, private equity, or real estate
- Must have IFRS (bonus points if you have worked with USGAAP)
- Preference given to those individuals who have worked in a public accounting firm previously
- Advanced Excel and strong financial systems skills
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with proven ability to interact confidently at senior levels
- Highly organized, analytical, and detail-oriented with the ability to thrive in a fast-paced, evolving environment
