This position will be based out of our Head Office located inLiberty Villageand offers ahybrid work scheduleof 2-days a week work-from-home and 3-days a week in-office.The Director Finance, Controller, will play a key role inleading the transformationof thefinancial reportingfunction. Reporting to the Sr Director, Finance, the Director Finance, Controller will lead all aspects of theperiod close process,financial statement preparationandsupporting documentation,balance sheet reconciliationand will also provide oversight of theoffshored Accounts PayableandAccounts Receivablefunctions.WHAT YOU'D BE DOING IN THIS ROLEDrive a culture of continuous improvement and excellence by attracting and developing team members. Set an expectation reflecting the ethos of "we own every figure on our financial statements."Set goals in accordance with corporate mandates, communicate milestones, and provide regular feedback to a group of direct reportsOwn the financial reporting process, including: month end procedures, consolidation and financial statement preparation, balance sheet reconciliations,Lead and drive the month end reduction initiative, while ensuring strong internal control procedures and a sustainable go forward processAnalyze and present monthly financial results to key leaders including commentary and review of actuals and variances vs. budget and vs. forecasAnalyze, understand, and explain the reasons for movement for financial indicators and their relationships to non-financial metricsOwnership of the Chart of Accounts and Master DataMonitor the offshore team to ensure compliance with control processes and ensure timely and accurate posting, coding and payment of invoices and invoices as well as tracking of deductionsProvide a leadership role that ensures a proper control environment and Coordinate and ensure that all accounting postings are complete and accurateEvaluate business controls applied to related areas of control and SOX compliance testing and documentation and implement and improve controls as neededSKILLS AND QUALIFICATIONS NEEDED TO GET THE JOB DONE5+ years of Financial Leadership experience in the area of reporting and controllershipCPA designation - CA or public accounting experience highly desired and Experience with Microsoft Dynamics 365 is an assetExperience in CPG or product related companies is highly desirable and beneficialStrong analytical and technical accounting skills including ASPE, IFRS and US GAAPAdvanced Excel skills and proficiency in MS PowerPoint, and MS WordWHAT YOU'LL BE GAINING BY JOINING OUR TEAMThere's a lot of good stuff that comes along with being a DECIEM team member.
