Job Overview

We are seeking a detail-oriented and friendly Medical Receptionist to join our healthcare team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for managing front desk operations in a medical office environment, ensuring a smooth and efficient patient experience. This role requires excellent communication skills, proficiency in electronic medical records, and a solid understanding of medical terminology. Experience with software such as Epic and Dentrix is highly desirable.

Duties

  • Greet patients and visitors warmly, providing excellent customer service at the front desk.
  • Schedule appointments and manage patient flow to optimize office efficiency.
  • Answer phone calls promptly, addressing inquiries and directing calls as necessary.
  • Maintain accurate patient records using electronic medical records systems.
  • Collect patient information, including insurance details and medical histories.
  • Assist with administrative tasks such as filing, data entry, and managing correspondence.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
  • Collaborate with healthcare providers to facilitate smooth operations within the office.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in a front desk role within a medical office is preferred.
  • Familiarity with electronic medical records systems; experience with Epic or Dentrix is a plus.
  • Strong administrative skills, including proficiency in office software and phone systems.
  • Knowledge of medical terminology to effectively communicate with patients and staff.
  • Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
  • Ability to work well under pressure in a fast-paced environment while maintaining professionalism.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to build rapport with patients and team members alike.
