Responsibilities
- Conduct thorough inspections of machinery to identify potential issues before they cause downtime.
- Perform routine maintenance tasks such as lubrication, adjustments, and component replacements to keep equipment in peak condition.
- Troubleshoot mechanical problems using diagnostic tools and techniques, including the use of an ohmmeter for electrical resistance testing when applicable.
- Repair or replace faulty parts, ensuring all work adheres to safety standards and manufacturer specifications.
- Document maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections accurately in maintenance logs for future reference.
- Collaborate with production teams to schedule maintenance without disrupting workflow or productivity.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new machinery or upgrades to existing equipment.
- Follow safety protocols diligently, promoting a safe work environment for yourself and colleagues.
Skills
- Proven experience in mechanical maintenance within a manufacturing or industrial setting.
- Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to diagnose issues efficiently using diagnostic tools such as an ohmmeter.
- Knowledge of mechanical systems including hydraulics, pneumatics, conveyors, motors, and gearboxes.
- Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and diagrams clearly.
- Excellent problem-solving skills with a proactive approach to maintenance challenges.
- Good communication skills to effectively collaborate with team members and report issues accurately.
- Physical dexterity and stamina to perform manual tasks involving lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Certification or familiarity with electrical testing tools like an ohmmeter is preferred but not mandatory.
