Summary
BMFA is seeking a committed and experienced leader to serve as Chair of our volunteer Board of Directors. As a member-led organization, the Chair will play an active role in governance, leadership and operations.

Description
What you'll be doing

The BMFA has been a hub for the art community for over 50 years. The Chair will lead our organization as we move to our next phase of growth and sustainability. This position will guide the organization's direction, support board effectiveness and ensure strong oversight of strategy, finances, programs and community relationships. The Chair acts as an ambassador for BMFA, strengthens relationships with donors and community partners and ensures sound governance and accountability.

The Ideal Candidate Will Have:

  • experience serving on nonprofit or charity boards.
  • knowledge of governance, financial oversight and leadership
  • strong communication skills
  • interest in donor and partner engagement
  • a genuine interest in strengthening the arts and culture of our community

This is a rewarding position for someone with a passion for arts and community. Hours are flexible with Board meetings being held one evening per month.
