We are looking for a Banquet Captain who is entrepreneurial, proactive, and solution-oriented. This role offers exposure to both the restaurant and events sides of our business, allowing you to ensure seamless service and create memorable experiences for our guests. Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and lead banquet staff during events, including servers, bartenders, and support personnel.
  • Assist in planning and executing banquet events, ensuring adherence to client specifications, event timelines, and hotel standards.
  • Set up banquet rooms, including tables, chairs, linens, tableware, and audio/visual equipment as required.
  • Ensure all food and beverage service is delivered efficiently, professionally, and in accordance with safety and sanitation standards.
  • Monitor service quality and guest satisfaction, addressing any issues or concerns promptly.
  • Conduct pre-event briefings and post-event debriefs with staff to ensure continuous improvement.
  • Maintain inventory of banquet supplies and report any shortages or maintenance needs.
  • Train and mentor banquet staff on service procedures, company policies, and customer service standards.
  • Collaborate with other hotel departments (e.g., kitchen, front desk, sales) to ensure smooth event operations.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and hotel policies at all times.

Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent; post-secondary education in hospitality or related field preferred.
  • ProServe certification is required.
  • Proven experience in banquet service, preferably in a supervisory role within a hotel or large event venue.
  • Strong leadership, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment and manage multiple events simultaneously.
  • Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
  • Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by event schedules.
