Job Title: Maintenance Technician
Supervisor: Head of Operations
Work Location: Multi-site; Brampton (80%) and Dunnville (20%), Ontario
Travel: 20% of the time, within Ontario (between Brampton and Dunnville)
Hours of Work: 7:00am to 3:30pm (some overtime is required)
About the Role
Primarily based out of our Brampton facility, we are looking to hire a Maintenance Technician. Reporting to the Head of Operations, the Maintenance Technician will support all equipment and building maintenance activities. This includes the implementation of preventative maintenance programs, prioritization of planned and unplanned maintenance activities, and response to time-sensitive repair requirements.
Responsibilities
· Maintaining mechanical equipment (HVAC, plumbing) in the facility (indoors/outdoors)
· Establish priorities for scheduled and unscheduled equipment and facility maintenance activities, ensure the work is completed in a timely and cost-effective manner.
· Conduct reactive and proactive maintenance, calibration, or repair relevant to equipment and building systems and is documented and approved
· Execute a Preventative Maintenance Program on all equipment and building systems, including in-house and contracted services. (ex. filter changes)
· Audit and review the life cycle of equipment and building systems for replacement.
· Coordinate and support external service providers/vendors/contractors and ensure that all preventive maintenance work is completed as per the contracts and predetermined key performance indicators.
· Support new and ongoing projects; Providing input on mechanical equipment or components required for project completion and identifying any mechanical or equipment concerns or issues
· Collaborate with Quality and Operations on Standard Operating Procedures, Work Instructions and Standard Documents that are to be developed and revised as required
· Ensure all processes and compliance programs are met (e.g., Quality, Environmental, Health & Safety)
· Ensure compliance with safety matters under Occupational Health and Safety legislation.
· Ensure 24/7 coverage for onsite response to emergencies.
· Other duties as required.
Qualifications
- Strong mechanical aptitude; capable of learning new maintenance-related skills quickly.
- Previous experience in a similar role.
- Well-versed in technical and mechanical operations as well as facilities management best practices.
- Knowledge of Mechanical systems, Electrical systems, HVAC, and BAS systems is an asset.
- Experience with or knowledge of contract management, vendor management, and project management is preferred.
- Ability to balance multiple priorities and execute against a diverse set of objectives.
- Completion of a satisfactory criminal record check and reference checks are required for employment.
