We are seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Shipper/Receiver/Mechanical Assembler with at least 5 years of experience to join our warehouse team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in managing the flow of goods in and out of our facility in Mississauga and into the U.S., ensuring that all shipments are processed accurately and efficiently. This position requires a strong understanding of manual warehouse operations, excellent organizational skills, and the ability communicate well and to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Order Preparation: Prepare and complete orders for delivery or pickup according to the schedule (load, pack, wrap, label, ship). Ensure accuracy and timeliness in order fulfillment.
  • Stock Processing: Receive and process warehouse stock products (pick, unload, label, store). Inspect incoming shipments for damage and verify product counts.
  • Warehouse Maintenance: Keep a clean and safe working environment, including sweeping floors, organizing shelves, and ensuring compliance with safety regulations. Optimize space utilization and reconfigure storage as needed.
  • Equipment Operation: Operate and maintain warehouse forklifts and pallet jacks, ensuring they are in good working condition. Schedule and order regular equipment maintenance and order repairs when needed.
  • Documentation and Reporting: Document product movements, including pictures of shipments, and report any discrepancies or issues. Assist with preparing reports for management.
  • Safety Compliance: Follow safety procedures and regulations to maintain a safe working environment. Participate in safety training and adhere to company safety policies.
  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all products are handled with care to maintain high-quality standards. Perform quality checks on products before shipping and receiving.
  • Team Collaboration: Communicate and cooperate effectively with supervisors, coworkers, and other departments.

Skills

  • Minimum 5 years of experience as a Shipper/Receiver in a manufacturing environment.
  • High attention to detail is essential with the ability to work independently with minimal supervision in a busy environment.
  • Experience preparing international shipments including customs documents. (USMCA Cert, Commercial Invoice, B13) would be a tremendous asset.
  • Extensive knowledge of major couriers – FedEx, Purolator, UPS, etc. including how to operate their respective software packages.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (Outlook, Excel, Word, etc.) and general computer skills.
  • Forklift license and effective experience are mandatory.
  • Physically fit with the ability to occasionally lift max. 50lb.
  • Must possess a valid Driver's License.
  • Post secondary education preferred.
