Job Summary

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential care and support to individuals in private residences. This role is crucial in enhancing the quality of life for those we serve, ensuring their comfort and dignity while assisting with daily activities.

Responsibilities

  • Provide personal care assistance, including bathing, grooming, and dressing.
  • Assist clients with meal preparation and ensure proper nutrition.
  • Support individuals with mobility challenges, including heavy lifting when necessary.
  • Maintain a clean and safe environment for clients by performing light housekeeping duties.
  • Offer companionship and emotional support to clients, fostering a positive atmosphere.
  • Help clients with activities of daily living (ADLs) and instrumental activities of daily living (IADLs).
  • Collaborate with healthcare professionals to implement care plans effectively.
  • Document client progress and any changes in condition accurately.
  • Assist clients with hospice care needs as required.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in caregiving or home care is preferred.
  • Knowledge of hospice care principles is a plus.
  • Familiarity with working with persons with disabilities is desirable.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting as needed for client mobility assistance.
  • Strong communication skills and a compassionate demeanor.
  • Certification or training in caregiving or nursing is an advantage but not mandatory.
  • Must be reliable, punctual, and able to work flexible hours as needed.
