POSITION SUMMARY: The Summer Camp Counsellor will work under the supervision of One Kids Place staff to ensure coordinated delivery of recreational activities and provide supervision for children and youth with special needs. This role is ideal for students interested in healthcare, education, social services, or child and youth work who are looking to gain meaningful, hands-on experience in a supportive, multidisciplinary environment.

JOB DUTIES

  • Support the One Kids Place team by carrying out one-to-one and group activities with children and youth
  • Assist the OKP therapy team in implementing activities that support social and recreational development
  • Participate fully in orientation and training provided by One Kids Place
  • Ensure a safe, respectful, and inclusive environment for all participants
  • Complete other related duties as assigned

QUALIFICATIONS: 

  • Some experience working or volunteering in the health care or human service sector is an asset
  • Experience working with children and youth
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills required
  • Strong organizational and interpersonal skills required
  • Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team supporting various professionals
  • Computer competency with a variety of software
  • Ability to work independently and professionally while respecting client confidentiality and program integrity
  • Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to engage participants in a variety of group activities.
  • Valid Ontario driver's license (class G) is an asset
  • Bilingualism (English/French) is an asset
  • Proof of COVID Vaccinations as required by the sector

SOMMAIRE DU POSTE : L'animateur/animatrice de camp d'été travaillera sous la supervision du personnel de La place des enfants afin d'assurer le bon déroulement des activités récréatives et d'encadrer les enfants et les jeunes ayant des besoins particuliers. Ce poste est idéal pour les étudiants intéressés par les soins de santé, l'éducation, les services sociaux ou le travail auprès des enfants et des jeunes et qui souhaitent acquérir une expérience pratique et enrichissante dans un environnement multidisciplinaire et bienveillant.

FONCTIONS DU POSTE :

  • Soutenir l'équipe de La place des enfants en animant des activités individuelles et de groupe auprès des enfants et des jeunes.
  • Aider l'équipe de thérapie de La place des enfants à mettre en œuvre des activités favorisant le développement social et récréatif.
  • Participer pleinement à l'orientation et à la formation offertes par La place des enfants.
  • Garantir un environnement sécuritaire, respectueux et inclusif pour tous les participants.
  • Accomplir toute autre tâche connexe assignée.

QUALIFICATIONS :

  • Une expérience professionnelle ou de bénévolat dans le secteur de la santé ou des services sociaux est un atout.
  • Expérience auprès des enfants et des jeunes.
  • Excellentes aptitudes à la communication orale et écrite requises.
  • Solides aptitudes organisationnelles et interpersonnelles requises.
  • Capacité à travailler efficacement au sein d'une équipe interdisciplinaire et à soutenir divers professionnels.
  • Maîtrise de l'informatique et de divers logiciels.
  • Capacité à travailler de façon autonome et professionnelle, tout en respectant la confidentialité des clients et l'intégrité du programme.
  • Aptitudes démontrées en leadership et capacité à animer des activités de groupe variées.
  • Permis de conduire de l'Ontario valide (classe G) est un atout.
  • Bilinguisme (anglais/français) est un atout.
  • Preuve de vaccination contre la COVID-19, conformément aux exigences du secteur.
