Olsonfab Metal Fabrication is seeking a Plate/Tank Estimator to join our growing team, offering competitive pay, opportunities for professional development, and a supportive work environment.

Duties:

- Develop precise cost estimates for plate and tank fabrication projects, considering materials, labour, equipment and overhead

- Prepare competitive bids and proposals tailored to client specifications and industry standards

  • Review blueprints, specifications and other project documents to determine scope and requirements.

  • Identify potential challenges, materials needs, and cost-saving opportunities

  • Collaborate with supplies and vendors to obtain material and service pricing

  • Maintain open communication with clients to clarify project details and expectations

  • Create and maintain detailed records of estimates, quotes and project costs

  • Provide reports and insights to support management in decision making processes

  • Stay up to date with industry standards, market trends, and fabrication technologies to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.

Qualifications:

  • Post Secondary Education Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred

  • 3 years experience in estimating for plate and tank fabrication or similar manufacturing environments

  • Strong proficiency in estimating software

  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

  • Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills

  • Proficient in Office 365

  • In-depth knowledge of fabrication process, materials and industry standards

  • Excellent communication skills

  • Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
