Olsonfab Metal Fabrication is seeking a
Plate/Tank Estimator

Duties:

Develop precise cost estimates for plate and tank fabrication projects, considering materials, labour, equipment and overhead

Prepare competitive bids and proposals tailored to client specifications and industry standards

- Review blueprints, specifications and other project documents to determine scope and requirements.

- Identify potential challenges, materials needs, and cost-saving opportunities

- Collaborate with supplies and vendors to obtain material and service pricing

- Maintain open communication with clients to clarify project details and expectations

- Create and maintain detailed records of estimates, quotes and project costs

- Provide reports and insights to support management in decision making processes

- Stay up to date with industry standards, market trends, and fabrication technologies to ensure accurate and competitive estimates.

Qualifications:

• Post Secondary Education Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field preferred

- 3 years experience in estimating for plate and tank fabrication or similar manufacturing environments

- Strong proficiency in estimating software

- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications

- Exceptional analytical and mathematical skills

- Proficient in Office 365

- In-depth knowledge of fabrication process, materials and industry standards

- Excellent communication skills

- Ability to work independently and manage multiple projects simultaneously
