Position Overview:

The System Administrator will serve as a technical steward for hybrid Microsoft environments, overseeing infrastructure, security, and application administration across on-premises and Azure platforms. This role includes managing Microsoft Dynamics 365 and Microsoft Fabric components, ensuring seamless data integration, analytics, and system performance. Responsibilities span network operations, VoIP systems, cybersecurity compliance, and disaster recovery planning, with a strong emphasis on collaboration, documentation, and support for enterprise-wide digital transformation initiatives.

Reporting to the Manager of IT Infrastructure or designate, this position is located at the Guelph office at 104 Cooper Drive, Guelph. Ontario One Call has a hybrid work model with staff dividing their workweek between in-office and at-home work per company policy.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Administer and maintain hybrid Microsoft environments (on-premises and Azure).
  • Support and configure Microsoft Fabric components for data integration and analytics.
  • Monitor and manage network infrastructure, including switches, firewalls, and wireless access points.
  • Administer and maintain Microsoft Dynamics 365 environments, including user provisioning, role-based access controls (RBAC), workflows, plugins, and integrations with third-party systems.
  • Monitor and manage network infrastructure (switches, firewalls, wireless access points, VPNs, load balancers) ensuring uptime, redundancy, and performance optimization.
  • Manage Windows Server, Active Directory, Azure AD, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy configurations.
  • Implement and maintain automated backup and recovery procedures across systems.
  • Implement and maintain firewall rules and security policies across multiple platforms.
  • Administer VoIP phone systems for call center operations, ensuring high availability and performance.
  • Provide system administration for Microsoft Dynamics 365 CRM, ensuring seamless integration with contact centre platforms (e.g., Genesys Cloud CX).
  • Collaborate with business and data teams to support data ingestion, transformation, and analytics pipelines within Microsoft Fabric and Power BI environments.
  • Support integrations between Dynamics, Azure, and corporate systems such as FMS (Financial Management System).
  • Maintain system documentation, architecture diagrams, change management logs, and runbooks.
  • Maintain accurate system documentation, configuration baselines, and CMDB updates.
  • Prepare regular reports on system availability, incident metrics, and cybersecurity posture.
  • Participate in IT audits, ensuring alignment with internal control frameworks and IT policies.
  • Act as an accountable technical steward for hybrid infrastructure and Dynamics environments, ensuring alignment with organizational risk appetite and digital transformation goals.
  • Collaborate with vendors and internal teams to troubleshoot and resolve system issues.
  • Maintain system documentation, procedures, and change management records.
  • Participate in disaster recovery planning and execution.
  • Implement and maintain firewall rules, endpoint protection, and multi-factor authentication (MFA) across all systems.
  • Conduct regular vulnerability scans, patch management, and threat detection activities using Microsoft Defender, Sentinel, or equivalent tools.
  • Support security compliance with NIST, ISO 27001, CIS, and Ontario's cybersecurity directives.
  • Manage and monitor user access controls, ensuring least privilege and adherence to DOFMA and Segregation of Duties (SoD) principles.
  • Respond to security incidents and coordinate root cause analysis and post-incident reporting.
  • Maintain audit logs and participate in internal/external security and compliance audits.
  • Provide Tier 2/3 technical support for escalated infrastructure, VoIP, and Dynamics-related incidents.
  • Collaborate with internal teams, vendors, and managed service providers to resolve complex issues and optimize performance.
  • Participate in disaster recovery (DR) and business continuity (BCP) planning, testing, and execution.
  • Ensure proactive monitoring and alerting for system health using tools such as Azure Monitor, Sentinel, or equivalent.
  • Support onboarding, offboarding, and access provisioning in alignment with HR and IT policies.
Qualifications:
  • Experience with Intune, Conditional Access Policies, and asset management
  • Strong understanding of networking principles, firewall configurations, and security best practices.
  • Experience managing VoIP systems in a call center environment.
  • Familiarity with Windows Server, Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Excellent communication and documentation abilities.

  • Experience with Genesys Cloud contact center platform an asset.
  • Knowledge of HPE Aruba networking solutions is an asset.

  • Relevant certifications (e.g., Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator, CCNA, Palo Alto PCNSA).
Education & Experience:
  • College Diploma or University degree in IT, Computer Science, or a related field preferred; or a relevant discipline or combination of post-secondary education and experience.
  • 2-3 years of experience in systems administration within a Microsoft hybrid environment.
  • Hands-on experience with Microsoft Azure and Microsoft Fabric.
