Salary: Administrative Support 3 (AS3) based on 40 hours per week $ $29.46 per hour
In addition to regular wages, regular Wage employees receive 11.6% in lieu of benefits and vacation leave:
- 5.6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of paid holidays
- 6 percent of regular wage earnings instead of annual vacation pay
Benefits
In addition to the regular wages and the additional pay in lieu of benefits and vacation, regular wage employees are entitled to shift premium pay:
- $3.25 per hour for weekends and holidays
- $2.75 per hour for evenings

*Role Responsibilities
The
Grande Prairie
and
Peace River Area*
is looking for a motivated, courteous, and hardworking individual with exceptional customer service skills to fill the Seasonal District Administrative Support position.
The
District Admin Support (AS3)
position has a combination of administrative and front-line customer service duties including providing support to the team responsible for the daily operation of park facilities including registration booths and camp stores. This position's primary purpose is to provide support the Visitor Services Supervisor through revenue reconciliation and tracking in addition to various other administrative and public facing tasks.
Responsibilities
As the District Admin Support, duties and responsibilities include assisting with and performing booth/store staff tasks in addition to some front-line administrative tasks such as
:
- Manage a POS system and till floats to ensure they have appropriate change at all times.
- Review and reconcile Grande Prairie and Peace River district camping, facility, and retail sales revenue and complete bank deposits on a weekly basis.
- Enter all camping revenue and envelopes into the AspiraOne system and designated spreadsheets.
- Provide revenue reconciliation troubleshooting support to seasonal booth/store staff.
- Assist the Supervisor with booth and store inventory to ensure proper supplies are available.
- Have an in-depth understanding of the reconciliation process and corresponding policies and procedures.
- Provide consistent professional information services to the general public via telephone, email, and in-person.
- Assist in the daily operation of the Saskatoon Island Campground Store as needed.

Qualifications
Education and Experience required
:
District Admin Support (Admin Support 3)
- High School Diploma and one year of related experience with supervisory or leadership experience and customer service experience.
Equivalency
- Directly related experience or education considered on the basis of one year of experience for one year of education OR one year of education for one year of experience.
Assets
- Strong customer service skills.
- Outgoing, friendly personality that enjoys working with the public in a team atmosphere.
- Post-Secondary education.
- Ability to work both in a team and independently with little to no supervision.
- Independent problem solving and adaptability.
- Knowledge and skills of a variety of office and administrative functions including Microsoft Officer, Internet based computer operations, and basic accounting skills.
- Knowledge of local tourism, amenities, flora, and fauna.
Requirements
Additional requirements to be successful in this role

- Strong written and verbal communication skills with an ability to clearly communicate with the public.
- Knowledge of Alberta Parks and direct experience with
- Available to work weekend, evening, and holiday shifts during the season.
- Strong computer skills, including Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Outlook, and Publisher).
- Customer service, retail, and cash handling experience, and/or administrative experience.
- Familiarity with campground operations, park regulations, campground etiquette, and surrounding park amenities.
- Current Standard First Aid and CPR Level "C"/AED Certificate.
- Valid Alberta Class 5 driver's license or equivalent.
- Valid Driver's Abstract.
- Valid Defensive Driving certificate.
- Criminal Record Check.
- Valid Workplace Hazardous Materials Information System (WHMIS) certificate.

Parks Seasonal District Support*

Terms of Employment
- Fulfill seasonal contract (anticipated May 2026 start and early September 2026 end).
- This position is based on a 40-hr work week, dependent on operational needs. This position will be required to work evenings, weekends and holidays throughout the duration of the summer as required.
- Access to reliable transportation to and from place of work is required.
- Adherence to Alberta Parks Uniform Policy.
- Those selected for an interview will need to supply three work related references including their most recent supervisor.
- Training will be provided to the successful candidate.
- This position may require some outdoor work in a variety of weather conditions.
- Shared rental staff housing may be available, dependent on Park location.
Any initial costs associated with obtaining required documents/checks as noted will be the responsibility of the candidate. However, some reimbursements may occur. Interview travel expenses will not be reimbursed. Out-of-province applicants can obtain the required documents/checks from the province they currently reside in.
